Hustle While You Wait

My high school football coach, Coach Ocampo, had plenty of sayings to pump us before games or give us general life advice, like ‘You can sleep when you’re dead’ or ‘Life is a game of inches’.  The one that consistently resonated with me, and still does to this day, is ‘Hustle while you wait’.

With Chicago’s real estate market slowing down, whether it’s due to high interest rates or normal winter seasonality, now is the perfect time to outhustle the competition and ensure a decent pipeline in Q1’23.  As sales trainer Jeb Blount says, “You can trace a slow sales month to the prospecting and lead generation you did 3 months ago.”

It is without question that we are entering a market quite like the Carter administration’s era of high inflation and high (at least increasing) interest rates.  How many people do you know that have exited the real estate industry in the last 12 months, or are considering exiting the industry now?  While others’ incomes shrink and anxiety reigns, I just envision Coach Ocampo screaming at me in the 100-degree Arizona heat, “Hustle while you wait!”
