The Magic of Mirrors
Hanging a mirror or on a wall in a home has a deceivingly positive effect on the room’s aesthetic. The right mirror in the right place can "open up" a room more than you might think, the explanation is actually quite rooted in science.
The law of reflection states that, effectively, the larger the mirror, the more the depth of the room expands. If you’re working with a very limited space that feels cramped or suffocating, you can quite literally fool yourself into thinking the space magically got bigger by adding a mirror. Conversely, putting a floor-length mirror in an already spacious room can create an illusion of grandeur.
Mirrors also complement all levels of natural and artificial light. Hanging a mirror on the opposite wall of a window drastically increases the amount of light reflected around the room. And with more reflected light, the more emphasized colors will be in a space. This is not limited to sunlight, either. Mirrors will work wonders in a room no matter what time of day.
