Book Review: As a Man Thinketh

One of my goals this year is to read 50 books, which is equivalent to a book a week. Well, just finished my first one, As a Man Thinketh by James Allen. While the ‘book’ is only 25 pages long, it is profound in that it states that your external life is a result of your internal thoughts.

With all the negative information being shared, it is not wonder that folks suffer from ‘stinkin thinkin’ and can’t seem to get ahead. Ever worked with someone who is overly pessimistic? I can without doubt say they were probably not being recognized highly within the company or by their peers. What about a friend who constantly complains about their work, spouse, or general station in life? It is unlikely they are making any significant progress to accomplish their goals, if they have any in the first place.

Next time you find yourself complaining, condemning, or criticizing, looks inwards and see if the problem is actually you. That is the first step towards achieving what you want and is a game changer to bring you peace of mind.
