Not Enough Showings?

While the market tends to hum along in the South and Southwest, things come to a quick halt in the winter months of Chicago. With seasonality being a large driver in the real estate business here, many agents take Q4 off, or pump the brakes significantly.

It’s always good to spend time relaxing with family, or planning for next year, but what about that listing you’ve still got lingering with a meddling seller who won’t stop bugging you? Or what about the client that is focusing on timing the market in Q1’23 to get maximum price? Well, let me tell you, it’s not always easy to time the market, especially in a post-COVID world.

The one thing you can do is make sure your listing is marketed properly to get maximum price with the fewest days on market, no matter the time of year. Along with painting and cleaning, home staging is one of the most bullet proof ways to garner the attention of a broad pool of potential buyers. It highlights the benefits of the property, while taking attention away from the flaws.

As you may know, selling is largely a psychology driven action, and home staging does just that. It taps into the psychology of potential buyers and allows them to see themselves already living in the property. As I like to say, home staging is cheaper than your first price reduction.
