Why stage in the winter months?

Like many businesses in seasonal markets, staging in Chicago tends to slow down a bit during the holidays and colder months. While this may seem like the least likely time to stage, the benefits are huge and can put you ahead of your competition when spring market comes January 1st. First, you must ask yourself the following questions:

  • Can you afford to continue holding you mortgage for 2-3 additional months?

  • Do you feel price points are trending in the right direction given the interest rate environment we’re in?

  • Will pulling my listing and re-listing in spring give the market the right signal about my property?

  • Am I confident that would-be buyers are going to enter the market in 2023?

  • What do the comps in my area look like over the past 2 months?

There are a multitude of factors in regards to timing the market. Ultimately, it is a decision you and your listing agent need to make; however, it is always beneficial to get ahead of the market and staging the one of the keys factors in helping you do so.
